Stoffer Geiling, shareholder and partner of FLYING EYE GmbH, will start a permanent position in the technology department of WELTN24 GmbH in Berlin on February 1st, 2023. WELTN24 is a subsidiary of Axel Springer SE with a focus on news in various formats for the Welt Group and the television channels Welt, ServusTV and Bild. In his new role, Stoffer Geiling will be responsible for the design and implementation of innovative media projects for WELTN24.
He will reduce his activities at FLYING EYE, but will continue to be available to the company, above all in the context of its ongoing projects.
Stoffer Geiling adds: “I am thrilled to be part of the innovative WELTN24 team and to support the exciting technology projects of the Welt Group. I look forward to contributing my skills and ideas and to being successful together. At the same time, I am grateful for the unforgettable time at FLYING EYE and am happy to have the opportunity to continue to support FLYING EYE and its customers in the future – albeit to a lesser extent.”
Stoffer Geiling has been a partner at FLYING EYE since 2008. After studying engineering for film and television technology, he initially worked as a sound engineer. After a three-year stay abroad as technical director of a film laboratory, he planned and managed several studio projects for television and radio. As a consultant of FLYING EYE, he oversaw several new construction and conversion projects for rbb: the HD direction of the evening show with director automation, the conversion of the television control room and the SAW, as well as the conversion of the control complex in Potsdam. He analyzed workflows, planned the entire studio and created the EU-wide tender. He looked after the interface between construction and studio technology and was responsible for project management up to handover to the user. He also worked on similar projects for WDR, ARTE and N24.
“We wish Stoffer Geiling all the best for his new role at WELTN24. His great passion for technology and media has enabled him to make valuable contributions to us and our customers. We are grateful for his many years of work and look forward to continuing to work with him,” says Felix Fröde, Managing Director of FLYING EYE.
