FLYING EYE moderates NDR working group to increase the efficiency of the service areas

The project group analyzed the situation within 6 months, derived measures and jointly developed a concept.

In autumn 2020, the NDR production department commissioned FLYING EYE to moderate a working group of service managers.

The service areas look after a wide range of IT and media systems of the NDR, spread over several locations. The task of the project team was to develop a future-oriented service portfolio. The aim was to increase the efficiency of the service areas to such an extent that a reduction in personnel required through cost-cutting measures can be compensated without increasing workload.

FLYING EYE should moderate this work and only intervene in an advisory capacity if necessary. Under the Corona conditions, FLYING EYE chose an agile approach with the support of modern communication tools – a very unusual approach for organizational projects.

After baselining phase to analyze the situation, a backlog of measures was developed in a creative phase, which was detailed and supplemented in the sprints between the individual reviews. After half a year of intensive cooperation, the result was presented to the steering committee of the production management.

“From my point of view, the set goals, including the increased cooperation between the departments, were achieved,” says Sascha Molina, Production Director of the NDR, commenting on the cooperation with FLYING EYE. “It should be particularly emphasized that FLYING EYE started without the 200 standard slides expected from a consulting company, but rather fully engaged with our topics.”
