Media technology research in the German-speaking world was the focus of an online discussion round attended by experts from science, broadcasting and industry. The digital debate was organised by the journal FKT in cooperation with the Television and Cinema Technical Society (FKTG).
The switch to IP-based workflows on the production side and the massive change in media usage poses major challenges for the industry. The experts – including our partner Prof. Mike Christmann and FLYING EYE consultant Lucien Lenzen – discussed in a two-hour live format which new projects the research is working on, which problems are to be solved in the coming years and what role the joint development of open standards plays in this.
