Companies that need to digitize their broadcast production processes count on Mike Christmann’s expertise. In addition to semantic search & retrieval concepts, he also focuses on the technological aspects of UHDTV, the television system of the future, as well as storage and network technologies for media-specific applications.

In 2012, RheinMain University hired him as a professor in the Department of Engineering, specializing in Media Technology. He is currently researching UHDTV-related issues (HFR, HDR, color gamut) as well as software engineering (architecture development, cloud computing).

While he was still a student of communications engineering, Mike Christmann worked as a film and video engineer. Starting in 1990, he worked for Philips Broadcast Television Systems. In 2000, he was Vice President of the Film Imaging and Signal Processing business units, where he was responsible for annual revenue of 86 million euros as well as 300 employees worldwide. Mike Christmann has been part of the FLYING EYE team since 2002.
