For TV stations, the future is in the cloud: Studying cloud computing technologies

Cloud computing has long been an important part of modern companies. Service providers make IT infrastructure and IT services available on the web. This can include, for example, storage space, computing capacity, and application software. The advantage: the company is more flexible. The cost-intensive provision, installation and support of in-house computer systems are no longer necessary.

At the start of the study, FLYING EYE determined which measures ARTE is already implementing in which areas. Our analysis also considered data and IT security issues, and compared the costs for internal and external solutions. In addition to desk and market research, we used employee interviews and workshops to help us formulate our recommendation for a future-oriented strategy for the ARTE Group.

Together with the Central Technology Department and the department heads, we developed a future-oriented cloud strategy and established its timing within a roadmap. We also laid the groundwork for considering additional cloud services and fundamental options for TV stations.
