Analysis of the application landscape and IT service processes at ARD-Hauptstadtstudio

In order to meet technology-related demands, users need to review their IT solution regularly. That includes considering how best to use resources and optimize workflows. ARD hired FLYING EYE to handle this process. We analyzed the TV station’s application landscape and the IT service processes at its “Haupstadtstudio” in Berlin.

Our analysis focused on two main points. First of all, we documented the main IT applications and their technical and functional interfaces. That included logging the corresponding hardware used to run these applications. Second, we documented the IT service processes using the elements of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) as orientation.

With our help, the broadcaster was able to develop a concrete idea of where its IT service processes showed optimization potential. In addition, ARD now has solid documentation of its application landscape, which it can use as a basis for future investment and architecture decisions.
