Future Television is Lebanon's leading private broadcaster. It broadcasts a daylong programme to the whole Middle East via satellite. There is also an Arabic programme produced, which is intended for the American continent. In contrast to the small equity ration of private stations in Europe and the USA, Future TV itself produces 60% of the programme. There are a number of studios spread over the whole city of Beirut. Due to the continued roaring growth during the last years, the existing space does not suffice anymore. Furthermore the infrastructure does not any longer meet the demands of modern production and broadcast equipment.

 

To find a remedy, a completely new Media Centre will be erected next year, which offers an effective area of 20.000 sqm for production and broadcasting of TV and Radio as well as editorial offices for print media. A fully digital Centre with several production studios with a size from 150 to 800 sqm is being planned, completed by news studios for the national and international stations, editing suites as well as workstations for graphics and visual effects.

 

FLYING EYE was assigned, to transform the customer's requirements into a coherent floor plan concept. This concept, which orients itself by state-of-the -art industry trends, will be the guideline for the architects' plans. FLYING EYE will impart the ideas behind the concept to the architects in additional workshops.

 

 

This project showedagain the strength of FLYING EYE'S work concept. The customer's operating efficiency is a top priority for FLYING EYE. Thus we start optimising the workflows, which result in the customer's product. Later the buildings and the equipment will be customised to meet the requirements. In doing so, it is important, not to lose the flexibility for future investments.

 

The developed floor plan concept does not only show the necessary premises, a description of their intended use and their ideal size. In a specific matrix with the technical requirements it also shows the allocation of the premises, in order to guarantee ideal workflows and short ways. Compared to the status quo, this ensures that the total cost of operation can be reduced noticeably. That enables Future TV, to keep strengthening their competitive position.
