Mike Christmann has worked as film- and video technician at ABC-Studios in Wiesbaden while studying communications engineering. After finishing his diploma thesis in the field of digital signal processing in video engineering at Broadcast Television Systems GmbH in Darmstadt, he worked for BTS starting as system engineer and later he became project manager for TV studio complexes in the BTS system group.
Afterwards he was in charge of product management for the company's Film and Imaging Products department. After a three-year employment in the USA, where he was overall product- and location independent responsible for the strategic planning of the postproduction department, in 1999 he was appointed as Director of product management for two business units. In the year 2000 he became Vice President of the business unit Film Imaging with annual sales of 86 million Euros and 300 employees worldwide.
Mike Christmann is a partner of FLYING EYE since 2002. Within FLYING EYE he is responsible for Broadcast IT, UHDTV, Digital Archive, 2D & 3D D-Cinema, 3D-TV, Film / Postproduktion, Workflow Management, Requirements Engineering, Technology and Strategy.
In August 2012 Mike Christmann became a Professor at the University of Applied Science RheinMain, Germany, faculty of engineering science, institute of Media Technology.
